Dry-Type Amorphous Transformer Cores

Dry-type amorphous transformer cores are manufactured based on iron-based amorphous alloy materials, using epoxy resin vacuum casting and other processes for insulation treatment, without using insulating oil. Their outstanding features are fire safety and zero pollution, allowing direct installation at load centers (such as high-rise buildings, subways, airports, commercial centers, and other places with extremely high fire safety requirements). The low-loss characteristics of amorphous alloys are equally reflected in these products, with no-load losses being only about 40% of traditional SCB10 products. At the same time, they have high mechanical strength, strong short-circuit resistance, low noise (10-15 decibels lower than standard), and extremely low partial discharge (controllable below 5pC), ensuring safe and reliable operation in high-density population environments.

  • Extremely low no-load loss: The extremely thin thickness and extremely high resistivity (about 3 times that of silicon steel sheets) of amorphous alloy materials physically suppress the generation of eddy current losses.
  • Light-load operation advantage: In scenarios where transformers are continuously powered 24 hours a day but with low load rates (such as commercial buildings and rural distribution networks), no-load loss dominates, making the energy-saving economic benefits of amorphous cores particularly significant.
  • High permeability and low coercivity: Amorphous alloy is an isotropic soft magnetic material with extremely high permeability and extremely low coercivity, meaning it is easily magnetized under weak magnetic fields with small excitation power requirements.
